Lone Star Creoles
Lone Star Creoles traces the families of Southwest Louisiana Creoles who migrated to Texas in 1927. Lone Star Creoles is dedicated to the families, including mine, who migrated from Acadiana and Southwest Louisiana parishes. Descendants from the parishes of St. Martin, Iberia, St. Martin, St. Landry, and Lafayette settled in Port Arthur, Beaumont, Ames, Crosby, Dayton, and Houston. Creoles from Southwest Louisiana didn’t just stop in Texas. Many of their family members traveled to California and the Pacific Northwest. This is a place to tell those stories and to build a community that celebrates the Creole culture. Lone Star Creoles is a monthly feature highlighting the journey of families from Acadiana. If you are interested in sharing your family's story, I want to hear from you. Please fill out the Let's Work Together card below!
